Kirstin & Matt
Kirstin Peterson and Matt Hebberd took the helm of this fledgling tour company and continue to operate Rim Tours out of Moab, Utah in the heart of Canyonlands country. Matt's background in the bicycle industry working for Wilderness Trail Bikes and some of the legendary bike shops in Marin County, California has spawned innovation in the gear and logistics end of our company as Matt has introduced ideas as well as equipment that is just plain cool (1 ½ gallon coffee press comes to mind!) and always functional. Matt was inducted to the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame in 2004 as an industry pioneer and has lots of stories about the “old days” but sometimes you have to egg him on to get the real scoop.
Kirstin brought experience from self support touring, a passion for mountain biking and from working as a bicycle tour guide in the California wine country of Napa and Sonoma. Growing up using a bike for transportation back in Massachusetts instilled the practical side of bikes for Kirstin. After college she ventured forth with friends to ride mt. bikes cross country in 1988 which opened up just how much fun she could have and how many miles she could cover by bike. “Most people can remember each bike they have ever had and many of the experiences shared, and with the fondest of memories. Bikes play an incredibly important role in our lives and working with Rim Tours has been a way to share that with people from all over the globe."
Rim Tours has had the privilege of working with some fantastic guides and support staff over the years and we remember everyone well. We have always believed we have the best staff in the business and our clients continually remind us of how great our guides are. Many people come back year after year and often request a guide that has touched their life in some way and it’s as much the people as the places that brings clients back time and again.
